General Questions
Where is Kent Cosmedics located? Kent Cosmedics is a specialist Permanent Makeup, Laser and Skin clinic based in the quiet village of Linton in Maidstone, Kent. Treatments are available by appointment only.
Is there anything I need to check before booking? If you have any health conditions or take regular medication, we strongly recommend contacting us before booking your consultation. Certain medical conditions, medications or other contraindications may mean that a treatment is not suitable for you, or that additional information or medical consent is required before we can proceed. Please be aware that consultation and booking fees are non-refundable, including where a medical condition, medication or other contraindication means you are unable to proceed with your chosen treatment. If you’re unsure about your suitability for a treatment, please contact us before making a booking. We’d much rather you check with us first.
Do I need a consultation before having a treatment? Yes. All treatments at Kent Cosmedics require a consultation before treatment. Your consultation is an important part of your treatment journey. It gives us the opportunity to discuss your goals, medical history and treatment suitability, as well as answer any questions you may have. Just as importantly, it gives you the opportunity to meet Abi, understand the treatment and decide whether Kent Cosmedics is the right clinic and practitioner for you. We believe you should feel completely comfortable and confident before choosing to proceed. Most treatments also require a patch test, which may be carried out or arranged as part of the consultation process where applicable and depending on what you've booked. Sometimes this may require a further appointment. There is never any pressure to proceed with treatment following your consultation.
Do I need a patch test? Most treatments at Kent Cosmedics require patch testing before treatment, usually at least 48 hours beforehand, although this can vary depending on the treatment. Patch testing is an important part of our safety process and helps us assess your suitability before proceeding. Please be aware that patch tests are only valid for a certain period of time, depending on the treatment. Re-patch testing may also be required if there are changes to your health, medical conditions or medications, or where otherwise necessary for your safety. Any specific patch testing requirements and timeframes will be explained during your consultation. Patch test appointments are chargeable.
What are your booking, cancellation and rescheduling terms? All appointments at Kent Cosmedics require a non-refundable booking fee to secure your chosen date and time. Your appointment is not confirmed until this has been paid. We understand that plans can change. If you need to reschedule your appointment, we require more than 72 hours’ notice. One reschedule is permitted per appointment. Any further changes will require a new booking fee. If you decide to cancel or simply change your mind after booking, your booking fee remains non-refundable. If you cancel or request to rearrange your appointment within 72 hours of your appointment time, your booking fee will be lost and cannot be transferred to another appointment. A new booking fee will be required if you wish to rebook. If you cancel on the day or fail to attend your appointment, the card held securely on file will be charged the full price of your scheduled treatment. We send appointment reminders by whatsapp to give you plenty of opportunity to reschedule within the permitted timeframe if necessary. It is also important that you follow any pre-treatment instructions provided to you. If you attend your appointment having not followed these instructions, or we are unable to safely carry out your treatment as a result, the full treatment price will be charged to the card held on file. Please also arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive late and there is no longer sufficient time to carry out your treatment safely and without impacting subsequent appointments, the full treatment price will be charged to the card held on file. By booking an appointment with Kent Cosmedics, you agree to our booking, cancellation and rescheduling terms.
Can I bring someone with me? Due to licensing requirements relating to the treatments offered at Kent Cosmedics, no one under the age of 18 is permitted on the premises at any time, including children accompanying a client. We generally ask that clients attend appointments alone. However, if you feel particularly nervous about attending your consultation, you are welcome to bring one friend or partner with you for support. Consultations involve covering a considerable amount of important information about your treatment, suitability, preparation and aftercare, so we do ask that distractions are kept to a minimum. For treatment appointments, friends, partners or family members are not able to wait in the clinic while your treatment is taking place. If someone is providing your transport to and from the clinic, that's absolutely fine. We'll do our best to give you an indication of when your appointment is likely to finish so they can return to collect you.
What happens if I’m early or late for my appointment? We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment, as your treatment time has been reserved specifically for you. If you arrive early, or notice that there are still two cars outside the clinic, please send us a WhatsApp message and remain in your car. Once the previous client has left and the clinic is ready for you, we’ll come out to let you know. This helps us maintain privacy and discretion for every client, as well as ensuring treatments and consultations are not interrupted. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible. Where possible, we will always try to accommodate a slight delay without compromising your treatment or affecting the appointments that follow. However, if you arrive more than 10 minutes late, we will usually be unable to carry out your treatment and a new appointment will need to be booked. In this instance, the missed appointment will be charged at the full treatment price to the card held securely on file, in accordance with our booking terms.
